This gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate cake recipe, found on the Downshiftology website is the very BEST I have ever eaten!
I am not kidding! I really enjoy a frosted cake and I never thought I’d find my new favorite recipe on a paleo website. I have a few friends with gluten and dairy intolerance. I was asked to make a birthday cake last year (2019). I found this recipe and since then have been asked to make it again and again. Our friends say it is their favorite cake too now. Our best friends eat a gluten-free and dairy-free diet. It has been difficult over the years to find really great recipes. I found this recipe last March (2019). I love how Lisa Bryan explains why certain ingredients are necessary so it is best to read and follow her recipe exactly… almost… I did not have raw cacao powder so I used the Dutch cocoa powder I had on hand. I made a 2 layer cake, not 3, using two 9″ pans.
I used the chocolate buttercream frosting recipe found also on Downshiftology.
I can honestly say this is the BEST chocolate cake I have ever eaten in my life, and I have eaten quite a few.
