I started making these in the 80’s when I had 5 in our family. It was a quick and easy meal to make after work and the kids and hubby enjoyed.

Ingredients
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/3 cup cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tbsp chili sauce (Homeade brand is my fav!)
- 1 - 7 oz can albacore tuna (Our fav is from Kirkland brand from Costco)
- 4 buns
- Optional:
- Mayonaise
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes, sliced
- Sweet pickles or bread and butter pickles
- Cheddar or another type of cheese
Instructions
- Mix the first 7 ingredients in a medium size bowl. Shape the mixture into 4 patties, similar size to a typical hamburger patty. In a skillet heat the butter in medium heat. Cook the patties until light brown on both sides (about 4 min. each side.)
- Serve on the buns. If desired, top with lettuce and tomato.
- Note: Tuna burgers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. They can be reheated briefly in a 350°F oven, warm skillet or microwave.
